Among Michael’s qualifications is board certification in consumer bankruptcy law from the American Board of Certification, which he earned in 1993. He holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest peer rating standard among U.S. attorneys, as only approximately 10% of lawyers achieve such a rating.
His published works include co-authoring Strategies for Consumer Bankruptcy Appeals: Leading Lawyers on Analyzing Bankruptcy Trends, Navigating the Appeal Process, and Developing a Strong Case (Thompson Reuters). In addition, Michael provided a thorough analysis and 1017 checklist of consumer provisions found within the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act (BAPCPA).
He is the proud recipient of the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association’s inaugural Pro Bono Service Award (2016). Michael was recognized for his hundreds of hours working at the TBBBA’s pro bono courthouse clinic, helping debtors who did not have the resources to retain counsel.
